Pakistan-France cooperation in Higher Education is benefiting Pakistani students

Paris 14^th June, 2019. Pakistan-France cooperation in higher education sector is expanding with more and more Pakistani students choosing French Universities of higher learning to pursue their Masters and PhD degrees.

This was stated by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque while addressing the opening ceremony of Presentation of final PhD thesis by five Pakistani students held in Campus France, Paris, today.

The opening ceremony was attended by the senior officials of Campus France, faculty members, French government officials, students and media persons.

In his opening address, the Ambassador congratulated the Pakistani students on successfully completing their PhD studies. He expressed his satisfaction on the ongoing cooperation between the higher education and research institutes of Pakistan and France. He said that the recent frequent exchanges of educational delegations under the auspices of Campus France and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan have laid a sound foundation for bilateral cooperation in the field of higher studies.

Currently more than 800 Pakistani students are pursuing Masters and PhD degrees in different universities of France in diverse disciplines under special scholarship schemes being offered by government of Pakistan and France.

Campus France, a French equivalent of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan was created in 2010 with the aim of promoting the French higher education and vocational training system abroad.

پیرس 14 جون:2019 پاکستان۔فرانس کے اعلی تعلیمی شعبہ میں تعاون سے زیادہ سے زیادہ پاکستانی طلباء   اپنی ماسٹرز اور پی ایچ ڈی کی ڈگریوں کے حصول کیلئے فرانسیسی یونیورسٹیوں کا انتخاب کر رہے ہیں۔

یہ بات جناب معین الحق سفیر پاکستان نے آج پیرس میں پانچ پاکستانی طالب علموں کے پی ایچ ڈی کے تھیسس جمع کرانے کی افتتاحی تقریب جو کیمپس فرانس میں منعقد ہوئی میں کہی۔

اس افتتاحی تقریب میں فرانس کیمپس کے اعلی حکام، فیکلیٹی اراکین، فرانسیسی سرکاری حکام، طالبعلموں اور صحافیوں کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔

اس افتتاحی تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے سفیر پاکستان نے پاکستانی طالبعلموں کو اپنی پی ایچ ڈی کی تعلیم کامیابی سے مکمل کرنے پر انہیں مبارک باد پیش کی۔ انہوں نے پاکستان اور فرانس کے اعلی تعلیم اور تحقیقاتی اداروں کے درمیان جاری تعاون پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ کیمپس فرانس اور پاکستان کے اعلی تعلیمی کمیشن کے مابین حالیہ تعلیمی وفود کے تبادلوں کے باعث اعلی تعلیم کے میدان میں دو طرفہ تعاون کو بڑھانے کیلئے ایک اچھی بنیاد رکھی گئی ہے۔

حکومت پاکستان اور فرانس کی جانب سے پیش کردہ خصوصی سکالرشپ کی اسکیموں کے تحت اب تک 800 سے زائد پاکستانی طالبعلموں نے فرانس کی مختلف یونیورسٹیوں سے ماسٹرز اور پی ایچ ڈی کی ڈگریاں حاصل کیں ہیں۔

فرانس میں پاکستان کے اعلی تعلیمی کمیشن کے مساوی کیمپس فرانس کی بنیاد 2010 میں رکھی گئی تھی جس کا مقصد بیرون ممالک میں فرانسیسی اعلی تعلیم اور پیشہ ورانہ تربیتی نظام کو فروغ دینا ہے۔

Pak Embassy in France woo French tourists to visit Pakistan

Paris 3^rd May, 2019. Embassy of Pakistan to France in collaboration with leading French tour operator company Clio organized an outreach event yesterday as a part of its initiative to promote Pakistan as a preferred destination amongst French and European tourists. This was the second such event organized at the Embassy.

Over 100 French clients of “Clio”, who were invited through special invitations attended the event.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque in his welcome remarks invited the participants to visit Pakistan and explore its hidden touristic secrets. He said that Pakistan was unique and diverse in terms of its landscapes and offered a variety of activities and attractions for tourists of all shades.

He said that promotion of tourism was a priority area of the Government of Pakistan. Besides developing modern facilities and launching a new visa regime for visitors, government’s tourism policy would ensure that tourism remained sustainable and eco-friendly while preserving the nature and its resources for future generations.

The Ambassador thanked the French tour operators for being a valuable partner in promoting Pakistan as a preferred tourist destination.

Mr. Gérard Rovillé, a world renowned anthropologist and an accomplished researcher shared personal experiences of his frequent travels to Pakistan.

Earlier, Director Asia Region of Clio Marie Annick informed the participants that Clio was offering a variety of exclusive packages for visiting Pakistan titled, “Pakistan: 5000 Years of Art and History”, “The North of Pakistan” and “Grand Tour of Pakistan”. She said that all these tour packages were in great demand and most of them for 2019 and 2020 had already been booked.

Clio created in 1976 offers tour packages to over 200 tourism destinations in 85 countries.

Urdu language learning classes launched in France

Paris 9^th June, 2019. The Embassy of Pakistan to France in partnership with a French non-governmental organization “Together for Human Development (EPDH)” has formally launched Urdu language learning classes for the French students of Pakistani origin and as well as students of other nationalities.

The Urdu classes were launched by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque during the annual Graduation Ceremony of students enrolled under learning and capacity building program of EPDH held near Paris today.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Jean-Louis MARSAC, Mayor of Villiers-Le Bel, French Officials, members of the French civil society, notable of Pakistan community and media persons.

The Ambassador while addressing the ceremony said that Urdu language classes was a long-standing demand of the Pakistan community which was finally met by the joint efforts of the Embassy and the EPDH. He appreciated Ms. Naghmana Kayani, a French national of Pakistan origin and President of the EPDH for her important role in this project.

He hoped that children of many Pakistani families living in France would benefit from these classes. Later, the Ambassador presented sets of Urdu text book to EPDH and also gave away prizes to the high achievers of EPDH.

فرانس میں اردو زبان سیکھنے کیلئے باقائدہ کلاسز کا اجراء کر دیا گیا

پیرس 9 جون:2019 سفارت خانہ پاکستان برائے فرانس نے فرانسیسی غیرسرکاری تنظیم ”ٹوگیدر فار ہیومن ڈویلپمنٹ (ای پی ڈی ایچ) کے ساتھ مل کر پاکستانی نژاد فرانسیسی طالبعلموں اور ساتھ ساتھ دوسری قوموں کے طالبعلموں کیلئے رسمی طور پر اردو زبان سیکھنے کیلئے باقاعدہ کلاسز کا اجراء کر دیا ہے۔

جناب معین الحق سفیر پاکستان برائے فرانس نے اردو کلاسز کا باقاعدہ اجراء آج پیرس کے نواح میں ای پی ڈی ایچ کی جانب سے طلباء کے داخلے کی سالانہ گریجویشن پروگرام کے تحت سیکھنے اور صلاحیت کی بہتر تعمیر کی تقریب کے دوران کیا۔

اس تقریب میں جناب جین لویس مارسک میئر ویلیئرلا بیل، فرانسیسی حکام، فرانسیسی سول سوسائیٹی کے اراکین، پاکستانی کمیونٹی اور صحافیوں کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔

سفیر پاکستان نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ پاکستانی کمیونٹی کی طرف سے اردو زبان سکھانے کیلئے کلاسوں کے اجراء کا یہ ایک دیرینہ مطالبہ تھا جسے بالآخر سفارت خانہ پاکستان اور ای پی ڈی ایچ کی مشترکہ کاوشوں سے پائیہ تکمیل تک پہنچا دیا گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے محترمہ نغمانہ کیانی جو کہ پاکستانی نژاد فرانسیسی خاتون و صدر ای پی ڈی ایچ ہیں کے اس منصوبے میں بہترین کردار پر ان کا شکریہ بھی ادا کیا۔

انہوں نے یہ امید ظاہر کی کہ فرانس میں مقیم پاکستانی خاندانوں کے بچے ان کلاسوں سے ضرور فائدہ اٹھائیں گے۔ بعد ازاں، سفیر پاکستان نے ای پی ڈی ایچ کو اردو کی کتابوں کے سیٹس پیش کیئے اور ای پی ڈی ایچ کے اعلی کارکردگی پیش کرنے والے طلباء میں انعامات تقسیم کیئے۔

Pakistan Community celebrated Eid ul Fitr in France with religious fervor

Paris 4^th June, 2019. Pakistani community of France celebrated Eid ul Fitr with religious zeal and fervor.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque offered Eid ul Fitr prayers with members of Pakistani community in the Embassy of Pakistan to France here in Paris today.

Special arrangements were made by the Embassy to facilitate the community member to offer Eid prayers along with their families.

Special prayers were offered for the progress, development and prosperity of Pakistan.

Later, the Ambassador met with the community members and exchanged with them the Eid Greetings. In his message on the occasion, the Ambassador exhorted the community members to share their happiness and joy with poor and less privileged among us.

فرانس میں پاکستانی کمیونٹی نے عید الفطر کی نماز مذہبی عقیدت و احترام سے ادا کی

پیرس4 جون:2019 فرانس میں مقیم پاکستانی کمیونٹی نے عید الفطر کی نماز اپنے مذہبی عقیدت و احترام سے ادا کی۔

جناب معین الحق سفیر پاکستان برائے فرانس نے آج پاکستانی برادری کے ساتھ سفارت خانہ پاکستان فرانس میں عید الفطر کی نماز ادا کی۔

سفارت خانہ پاکستان میں عید الفطر کی نماز کی ادائیگی کیلئے خصوصی انتظامات کیئے گئے تھے تاکہ فرانس میں مقیم پاکستانی برادری اپنے اہل و عیال کے ہمراہ نماز عید الفطر ادا کرسکیں۔

سفیر پاکستان نے اس موقع پر فرانس میں مقیم پاکستانی برادری سمیت پوری دنیا بھر کے مسلمانوں کیلئے عید کے اس پرمسرت موقع پر نیک خواہشات کا اظہار کیا اور پاکستان کی سا لمیت، ترقی اور خوشحالی کیلئے خصوصی دعائیں مانگی گئیں۔

سفیر پاکستان نے اس موقع پر اپنے ایک پیغام میں کہا کہ ہم سب کو چاہیئے کہ ہم اپنے ان خوشی کے لمحات میں اپنے غریب اور مستحق مسلمان بہنوں اور بھائیوں کو بھی شامل کریں۔

بعد ازاں عید الفطر کی نماز کے بعد شرکاء کی تواضع پاکستان کے لذیز کھانوں سے کی گئی۔

Pakistan-France marked 60 years of cooperation in Archaeology

Paris 19^th April, 2019: A special event to mark the 60 years of archaeological cooperation between Pakistan and France was held at the Embassy in Paris yesterday.

This function was the first formal event organized by the Association of Friends of Pakistan after its establishment last year. The event was attended by the officials of the French Foreign Ministry, members of French archaeological mission, scholars, researchers and media persons.

Dr. Aurore Didier, the current Head of the French Archaeological Mission in the Indus Basin (MAFBI) was the key note speaker. Tracing the history of the French archaeological mission in the Indus Basin founded in 1958, she said that it had excavated major archaeological sites in Pakistan such as Amri in Sindh, Mehrgarh Nindowari, Nausharo, Miri Qalat and Shahi Tomb in Balochistan. She said the mission especially take pride in its discovery of Mehrgarh in Balochistan which was the most ancient civilization in the entire South Asian region.

Dr. Didier said that the extensive research and deep studies carried out during the last 60 years by the French and Pakistani archaeologists have produced invaluable data, highlighting the existence of thousand of years old civilization in the region which is now Pakistan.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque speaking on the occasion conveyed his congratulations on reaching this important milestone in the long history of strong and continuous cooperation between France and Pakistan in the field of archaeology. Noting that the important discoveries made by the French team in Balochistan and Sindh, had greatly contributed to understanding of ancient cultures and civilizations in Pakistan, he specifically thanked Prof. Jean-Francois Jarrige and Roland Besenval, the two French archaeologists, who were the pioneers in setting up the French Archaeology Mission and discovering Mehrgarh.

The Ambassador conveyed his special thanks to Mrs. Fredrika Sundberg, President of the Association of Friends of Pakistan and other members of the Association for organizing this excellent event. He also appreciated the support of MAFBI and the French government for training of the Pakistani students and researchers and imparting them with latest excavation techniques, skills and knowledge in the field of archaeology.

Later, Ambassador gave special memento shields to the widow of Prof. Jarrige, son of Mr. Besenval and Dr. Didier to mark the 60 years of French Archeology Mission in Pakistan.

Pakistan Paris Embassy reach out to the French potential tourists

Paris 12^th April, 2019. Embassy of Pakistan to France initiative to promote tourism has created a renewed interest amongst French tourists to visit Pakistan.

In collaboration with “Nomade Adventure”, one of the leading tour operator company of France, a special evening to promote Pakistan as a tourist destination was held at the Embassy. Over 150 French clients of the company, who have registered on line attended the event.

The Ambassador Mr. Moin ul Haque in his welcome remarks invited the participants to visit Pakistan and explore its majestic mountains, beautiful valleys, diverse culture, rich heritage and traditional hospitality of its people. He also briefed them about the salient features of Pakistan’s newly announced tourism policy including launching of E-Visa regime and visa on arrival facility. He also informed that a dedicated Tourism Office is being set up at the Embassy soon to provide maximum facilitation to French prospective tourists going to Pakistan.

The Ambassador thanked the French tour operators for being a valuable partner in promoting Pakistan as a preferred tourist destination.

Later Mr. Essa Smatti, Director of Central Asia and Himalayas of Nomade Adventure gave a detailed presentation on Pakistan and his own experience of visiting various touristic site of Pakistan. The company is now offering tour packages for Pakistan, which for 2019 are fully booked.

Pakistan fully support UNESCO’s initiatives to promote Girl education

Paris 10^th April, 2019. Government of Pakistan is taking a number of concrete steps to ensure provision of quality education to all school going children with special focus on enrolment of girls in the schools in pursuance of UNESCO’s objectives.

This was stated by Ms. Wajiha Akram, Parliamentary Secretary for Education and Professional Training and the newly appointed Pakistan’s Representative to UNESCO Executive Board while delivering country statement at the ongoing 206^th session of UNESCO Executive Board meeting at UNESCO’s headquarter in Paris yesterday.

The Ambassador of Pakistan to France and Permanent Representative of Pakistan to UNESCO also attended the meeting.

Ms. Wajiha Akram said that women in Pakistan had always been at the forefront in all national and international discourses and her appointment reflected the importance that we attach to the empowerment of women in Pakistan.

She said that Malala Fund for girls education established in UNESCO by humble contribution of US$ 10 million from Pakistan was bringing change in the lives of thousands of girls in Pakistan and many other countries in Asia and Africa.

Ms. Wajiha informed that members of Executive Board that incumbent government of Pakistan has a new vision to make Pakistan a peaceful, prosperous and developed nation. Government’s reform agenda was based on good governance, economic revival, poverty alleviation, human development, preservation of cultural heritage and protection of environment.

She said that many parts of the world were still facing conflicts that affect global peace and harmony, endanger our cultural heritage and threaten our environment. It was the shared responsibility of all UNESCO members to strive to work together to strengthen UNESCO to foster better understanding for global peace and stability.

Pakistan Embassy to France hosted a Diplomatic Reception to Mark Pakistan Day

Paris 26^th March, 2019. Embassy of Pakistan to France hosted a simple yet elegant diplomatic reception in Paris yesterday to mark the Pakistan Day.

Mr. Pascal Alizard, President Pakistan-France Friendship Group in the French Senate, Mr. Francois Pupponi, the Vice President of France-Pakistan Friendship Group in the French National Assembly, other parliamentarians, mayors, high level French dignitaries, members of the Diplomatic Corps, intellectuals, scholars, and members of French and Pakistani media attended the reception in large number.

During the ceremony, guests from all walks of life interacted with each other and congratulated officers and staff of the Pakistan Embassy on their National Day.

Live Pakistani national songs along with documentaries on Pakistan were played during the reception. The participants also showed keen interest in the photographic exhibition by Imran Y. Choudhary and Mr. Bilal Javaid depicting the scenic and cultural treasures of Pakistan

The guests were treated with traditional and signature Pakistani dishes.
