La Conférence internationale pour la promotion du tourisme d’aventure au Pakistan s’est achevée à Paris
Paris, le 25 octobre 2018.
La toute première Conférence internationale sur les majestueuses montagnes du Pakistan s’est tenue avec succès aujourd’hui au Siège de l’UNESCO à Paris.
Plus de cinq cents passionnés d’alpinisme, de sports d’aventure et de tourisme venus de nombreux pays européens, dont la France, la Pologne, l’Allemagne, la Suisse, la Slovénie, le Royaume-Uni, la Finlande, les Pays-Bas et l’Irlande, ont assisté à la conférence. Des ambassadeurs de nombreux pays, des tour-opérateurs français de premier plan, des notables de la communauté pakistanaise et des représentants des médias étaient également présents en grand nombre.
Le Ministre pakistanais des Affaires étrangères, M. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, s’est adressé à la séance inaugurale de la conférence par un message vidéo spécial. Il a déclaré que le Pakistan était unique et varié en termes de paysages et qu’il offrait toute une gamme d’activités et d’attractions qui font le bonheur des touristes en tous genres et de tous bords.
Le Ministre des Affaires étrangères a ajouté que la promotion du tourisme était un domaine prioritaire pour le nouveau gouvernement du Pakistan, dirigé par le Premier Ministre Imran Khan. Outre l’aménagement d’installations modernes pour les visiteurs et de nouvelles stations touristiques, la politique touristique du gouvernement garantirait également que le tourisme demeure durable et écologique tout en préservant la nature et ses ressources pour les générations futures.
L’Ambassadeur du Pakistan en France, S.E. M. Moin ul Haque, dans son allocution de bienvenue, a remercié tous les modérateurs et panélistes pour leur participation. Il a invité les invités à visiter le Pakistan et à explorer ses mystères cachés.
Une minute de silence a été observée pour rendre hommage aux alpinistes qui ont perdu la vie cette année lors de leurs expéditions dans les montagnes du Pakistan.
Ensuite, trois tables rondes ont eu lieu sur les thèmes “Conquérir les hauteurs”, “A la recherche de nouvelles aventures” et “Tourisme sublime et durable”. Des experts de l’alpinisme et des sports extrêmes de renommée mondiale ainsi que des spécialistes de la biodiversité et de l’écotourisme ont pris part aux discussions.
Des documentaires spéciaux mettant en lumière les possibilités d’activités d’alpinisme, de sports d’aventure et de tourisme et des panélistes sur leurs expéditions et projets au Pakistan ont été projetés au cours de la conférence.
Le public a ensuite été fasciné par la prestation hypnotisante du célèbre groupe instrumental pakistanais Khumariyaan,qu’on a fait venir du Pakistan spécialement pour l’occasion.
De multiples activités étaient prévues en marge de la conférence. Les principaux voyagistes pakistanais ont installé des stands pour présenter des voyages organisés destinés en particulier aux touristes et amateurs d’aventure européens.
Les participants ont également profité du spectacle de réalité virtuelle pour faire l’expérience du parapente au-dessus les montagnes du Pakistan avec le célèbre parapentiste français Antoine Gérard.
Les salles extérieures étaient ornées de grandes photographies thématiques et artistiques de Syed Mehdi Bukhari et Yasir Hameed représentant la diversité et la beauté des paysages du Pakistan.

International Conference to promote Adventure tourism in Pakistan concluded in Paris
Paris, 26thOctober 2018. First ever International Conference on the majestic mountains of Pakistan was successfully held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris yesterday.
More than five hundred enthusiasts of alpinism, adventure sports and tourism from many European countries including Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Ireland Poland, Slovenia, Switzerland and United Kingdom attended the conference. Ambassadors of many countries, top ranking tour operators of France, notables of Pakistani community and media persons were also present in large number.
The Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressed the inaugural session of the conference through a special video message. He said that Pakistan was unique and diverse in terms of its landscapes and offers a variety of activities and attractions for tourists of all shades.
The Foreign Minister further said that promotion of tourism was a priority area for the new Government of Pakistan under Prime Minister, Imran Khan. Besides developing modern facilities for visitors and new resorts, government’s tourism policy would also ensure that tourism remains sustainable and eco-friendly while preserving the nature and its resources for future generations.
The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque in his welcome remarks thanked all moderators and panelists for their participation. He invited the guests to visit Pakistan and explore its hidden secrets.
Mr. Pierre Mazeaud, the well-respected French politician and jurist, who is also an accomplished mountaineer, was the Guest of Honour. He spoke about his various expeditions to Pakistan and hoped that this conference would help in further promotion of mountain tourism in Pakistan.
One minute of silence was observed to pay homage to those mountaineers who had lost their lives this year during their expeditions on the mountains of Pakistan.
Later, three separate panel discussions were held on the themes of “Conquering the Heights”, “Seeking new Adventures”, and “Sublime and Sustainable Tourism”. World Renowned mountaineering and extreme sports experts and specialists of bio-diversity and eco-tourism took part in the discussions.
Special documentaries highlighting mountaineering and adventure sports and tourism opportunities of the panelists about their expeditions and projects in Pakistan were screened during the conference.
The audience was later enthralled by the mesmerizing performance of Pakistani famous instrumental band ‘Khumariyaan’, which was specially flown from Pakistan for the event.
Multiple activities were planned on the sidelines of the conference. The top tour operators of Pakistan had setup stalls to introduce tour packages specially prepared for European tourists and adventure seekers.
The participants also benefited from the specially setup Virtual Reality show to experience paragliding over the mountains of Pakistan with famous French paragliders/Antoine Gerard.
The outside halls were adorned with large sized thematic and artistically displayed photos of Syed Mehdi Bukhari and Yasir Hameed depicting the diversity and beauty of Pakistani landscapes.

Embassy of Pakistan to France values the Paris based Pakistani Journalists
Paris, 23rdOctober 2018: Embassy of Pakistan to France deeply values the important role of Paris based Pakistan Journalists for promoting and safeguarding Pakistan’s interests in France.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected members of the Pakistan Press Club Paris France held in the suburb of Paris, yesterday.
The Ambassador said that the constitution of Pakistan guarantees freedom of Press, which as the fourth pillar of the state plays a very important role for strengthening the democracy and democratic institutions.
He thanked the Paris based Pakistan media for their positive role in keeping the Pakistani community informed about developments and progress of Pakistan and keeping the government of Pakistan informed about the problems faced by the Pakistani community.
The Ambassador congratulated the newly elected members of the club and called upon them to follow the dictates of their oath and continue to serve the country and its people through responsible and objective reporting.

Pak Food products Exhibited at the world biggest food fair held in Paris
Paris, 22nd October 2018: The purpose-build Pakistan Pavilion at the Global International Food Products Exhibition (SIAL) held in Paris from October 21-25, 2018 attracted many buyers from around the world.
Over forty five (45) renowned Pakistani companies exhibited a variety of food products including rice, pickles, dry fruits, beverages, spices and processed food. Buyers from many countries including France who visited the Pakistan stalls showed keen interest in Pakistani products.
The Ambassador of Pakistan to France, Mr. Moin ul Haque visited the Pakistani Pavilion and appreciated the active participation of the Pakistani companies in the exhibition. In his interaction with the exhibitors, he emphasized the importance of quality control, competitive pricing, innovative marketing strategies and strong business ethics to compete at the international level.
The Ambassador noted with satisfaction that as result of the combined efforts of the Embassy and TDAP which included promotional activities and participation in the food related fairs and exhibitions, was bringing promising results. The exports of Pakistani food to France has registered unprecedented increase of 18.8% in the year 2017-18 compare to the year 2016-17.
The exports of Pakistani Basmati rice reached to Rs.678 million in 2017-18 compared to Rs.192 million of 2016-17 and Husked Brown Rice exports reached to Rs.1 billion in 2017-18 compared to Rs.726 million in 2016-17.
Over 7,020 companies from 109 countries are showcasing their products in the Global International Food Products Exhibition (SIAL). Pakistan’s participation with 45 companies was 9th highest in the fair.

Fourth Edition of Jinnah Cricket Championship trophy Concluded in Paris
Paris 1st October, 2018. The prize distribution ceremony was held in the French town of Bois de Vincennes, located in the suburb of Paris yesterday after conclusion of Jinnah Cricket Championship trophy matches.
The elegant ceremony was attended by Mr. Moin ul Haque the Ambassador of Pakistan to France, Mr. Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, Ambassador of Bangladesh, Mr. Prebagarane Balane the President of France Cricket, diplomats from the cricket-playing nations, senior officials from the French Ministry of Sports and Olympic Committee and a large number of cricket fans.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, the Ambassador of Pakistan noted with satisfaction that after the launch of the Jinnah Trophy with the support of the Embassy of Pakistan in 2015, cricket is increasingly becoming popular in France and more and more young French nationals have started showing keen interest in this game. He assured Embassy’s continued support for organized Jinnah Trophy in the future.
Later Ambassador distributed the trophy and prizes to the winning team.
In all 16 teams participated in the Jinnah Champions Trophy from all over France.
Jinnah Championship Trophy started four years ago has now become the biggest and most prestigious tournament in cricket circle of France.

53rdDefence Day of Pakistan marked in France
Paris 25thSeptember, 2018. The 53rdDefence Day of Pakistan was observed with traditional zeal and passion in a simple but dignified ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris today to pay tribute to the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan and all those who laid down their lives while defending the country.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of officials from French government, parliamentarians, Ambassadors and Defence Attaches of friendly countries, representatives of media and think tanks.
The Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Moin ul Haque during his address highlighted the significance of the day and countless sacrifices of the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan for protecting the motherland.
Ambassador said that Pakistan foreign and defence policies are based on the principles espoused by Quaid-d-Azam, “peace with all and enmity with none”.As a responsible nation and a member of United Nations, we desire peaceful and friendly relations with all our neighbors and believe in dialogue and constructive engagement for regional and global peace.
Senator Pascal Allizard and Mr. Jean-Bernard Sempastous, Presidents of Pak-France Friendship Groups in the French Senate and National Assembly respectively were the Guests of Honour who laid the ceremonial floral wreath and cut the cake on the occasion along with the Ambassador Moin ul Haque and Defence & Air Attaché, Air Commodore Syed Muhammad Azmat Ali.

12-top Pakistan companies showcase their products at Texworld, Paris
Paris 19th September, 2018. Twelve Pakistani textile companies participated at Texworld, the bi-annual International textile exhibition held in Paris from 17th to 20thSeptember, 2018.
The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque visited the Pakistan Pavilion established at the exhibition and met various companies and thanked them for their participation showcasing a wide range of their quality textile and leather products.
The Ambassador noted with satisfaction that the Pakistan’s exports to France are following an upward trajectory since the launch of economic diplomacy initiated by the Embassy in 2016. In the year 2017, total bilateral trade increased to US$1.58 billion compared to US$1.467 billion in 2016. He added that the data for first months 2018 reflected 8% increase in the bilateral trade, which was a welcoming trend.
Some of the major Pakistani textile groups/exporters namely Nishat Mills, Kohinoor, Sapphire, Kamal Limited, Siddique Sons and Master Textile had also established their theme based customized pavilions which attracted large number of potential buyers.
The Texworld held twice every year is a popular trade fair exclusively for professionals from the textile and fashion industry. It is a valuable and efficient gateway to the European market for international textile manufactures. Each year, a number of Pakistani textile companies participate in the exhibition with support of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
President Macron Congratulates Prime Minister Khan
President Emmanuel Macron of France telephoned Prime Minister Imran Khan this evening to congratulate him on his party’s election victory and for assuming the office of Prime Minister.
President Macron stressed the importance of deepening bilateral political dialogue. He expressed the desire to cooperate in the fields of energy, water resource management, trade, and economy and to work together on issues of mutual interest at the global level.
President Macron appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in fighting terrorism, and recognized the “high price” paid by Pakistan dealing with this menace. In this context, he condoled the July terrorist incidents in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Khan thanked the French President for his call. He expressed the desire for further developing bilateral relations with France into a mutually beneficial, broad -based and long-term partnership.
Prime Minister Khan added that trade and investment ties between Pakistan and France were growing and appreciated the presence of a large number of French companies in Pakistan. He invited more French investments into Pakistan.
Prime Minister Khan briefed the French President on the regional situation, especially the importance of a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, and on the relations with India. He underscored the need for the resumption of the comprehensive dialogue with India to address all outstanding issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He referred to the sad plight of Kashmiris facing massive human rights violations and the need for the international community to play its role to mitigate the sufferings of the Kashmiri people.
Prime Minister Khan invited President Macron to visit Pakistan which the French leader accepted.

Paris 7th September, 2018. The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque paid rich homage to martyrs and veterans of Armed Forces of Pakistan for their sacrifices in the defence of the country.
He said this while addressing an event organized by the Pakistani Community of France to observe the Defence Day of Pakistan on the theme “We love Pakistan” in Paris yesterday. The ceremony was attended by the officers of the Embassy, notables of Pakistani community and media persons in large number.
In his address, the Ambassador said that our Armed Forces have always shown extraordinary courage and professionalism while defending our homeland against a much bigger enemy. Their role and sacrifices in defeating the forces of terrorism from our soil is also exemplary and unprecedented. He added that the international community has recognized and acknowledged the enormous sacrifices rendered by the people of Pakistan to defeat terrorism and extremism.
The Ambassador said that Pakistan has always desired peace and development in the country and the region. It will continue to make sincere efforts for developing friendly and mutual beneficial relations with its neighbours. He also called for just and lasting solution of the Kashmir dispute for durable peace in south Asia.
He requested the Pakistan community to play its due role in promoting Pakistan and its interests in France.
The notables of the Pakistan community in their speeches paid rich tribute to the martyred and Ghazis of the 1965 war and their families and assured that like in the past, Pakistani diaspora in France will continue to play its due role for progress and prosperity and defence of the country.
Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan issued on the occasion were also read, while community members also performed some patriotic songs during the event.

Paris 21 August 2018. Pakistani Community of France Celebrated Eid ul Adha with religious sanctity and fervor.
Special arrangements were made at the Embassy of Pakistan to France where community members, officers and staff of the Embassy along with their families offered Eid Prayers in large number.
Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque in his message to the community termed Eid ul Adha as an important festival celebrated in memory of the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) which reflected his absolute submission to the will of Allah.
In his message the Ambassador said that Eid is a great opportunity to extend compassion and kindness to the less fortunate and prayed to Almighty Allah to bless all Pakistanis and Muslims around the world with the true happiness and understanding for the great religious act of sacrifice.
The Ambassador also extended his warmest wishes to the Pakistani Community of France and congratulated everyone who performed the Hajj this year.
