Pakistan is fully committed to the mandate and principles of UNESCO
Paris, 10th April, 2018. Pakistan is fully committed to the mandate and principles espoused by UNESCO and appreciates UNESCO’s valuable contributions in promoting dialogue and cultural diversity which have ameliorated lives of millions of people through education and scientific cooperation.
This was stated by Dr. Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal, Member National Assembly of Pakistan while delivering country statement at the 204th Session of the Executive Board of UNESCO held in UNESCO Headquarter in Paris, today.
The Executive Board meeting was also attended by Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director General UNESCO, Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque and 58 Executive Board members.
Dr. Shezra Mansab assured the Executive Board that Pakistan would fulfill its obligations to UNESCO and would continue to work together with the global community in striving for an equitable, just, tolerant, open and socially inclusive world.
The Pakistan’s representative stated that Government of Pakistan has embarked on a broad based programme for social sector development, and education especially girls education remains an area of priority. In this context, she referred to Pakistan’s voluntary contribution of US$ 10 million to setup Malala Fund to supplement UNESCO’s efforts for promoting girl child education globally. She also thanked Governments of the Republic of Korea, Italy and Qatar for their substantial contributions to this Fund.
She welcomed Director General proposal for strategic transformation of UNESCO and emphasized that the new reform process should conform to UNESCO’s core mandate, ensure inclusiveness and transparency and preserve intergovernmental character of UNESCO.
During her stay in Paris Dr. Shezra will also be meeting with President of General Conference, President of Executive Board and Senior officials of UNESCO Secretariat.

پاکستان یونیسکو کے مینڈیٹ اور اصولوں کی مکمل پاسداری کرتا ہے۔
پیرس10 اپریل:2018 پاکستان یونیسکو کے مینڈیٹ اور اصولوں پر کاربند رہنے کا عزم رکھتا ہے اور یونیسکو سے بات چیت کے ذریعے ثقافتی تنوع کو فروغ دینے کے عمل کی حمایت کرتا ہے۔ جس کی وجہ سے دنیا میں تعلیم اور سائنسی تعاون کے ذریعے لاکھوں لوگوں کی زندگیوں کو بہتر بنایا گیا ہے۔
یہ بات محترمہ شذرہ منصب علی خان، رکن قومی اسمبلی پاکستان نے آج یونیسکو ہیڈ کوارٹر پیرس میں یونیسکو ایگزیگٹیو بورڈ کے 204ویں اجلاس میں ملکی بیانیہ پڑھتے ہوئے کہی۔
ایگزیگٹیوبورڈ کے اجلاس میں ڈائریکٹر جنرل یونیسکو میں آڈرے آذولے، سفیر پاکستان جناب معین الحق اور ایگزیگٹیو بورڈ کے 58 ممبران نے شرکت کی۔
ڈاکٹر شذرہ منصب علی خان نے ایگزیگٹیو بورڈ کو یقین دہانی کرائی کہ پاکستان یونیسکو کے سلسلے میں اس کے حصے کی تمام ذمہ داریاں پوری کرے گا اور عالمی برادری کے ساتھ مل کر یونیسکو کے پلیٹ فارم سے دنیا میں انصاف، برابری، رواداری، اور ثقافتی ہم آہنگی کے قیام کیلئے کام کرتا رہے گا۔
پاکستان کے نمائندے نے کہا کہ پاکستان تعلیمی اور سماجی شعبے میں ایک مربوط اور وسیع بنیادی پروگرام پر عمل کر رہا ہے۔ جس میں تعلیم اور خاص طور پر بچیوں کی تعلیم پر خصوصی توجہ دی جا رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے اس سلسلے میں پاکستان کی طرف سے 10ملین ڈالر کی خطیر رقم سے ملالہ فنڈ کے قیام کا حوالہ دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس فنڈ کے قیام سے دنیا بھر میں بچیوں کی تعلیم کو فروغ دینے میں مدد ملے گی۔ انہوں نے جنوبی کوریا، اٹلی، اور قطر کی حکومتوں کا ملالہ فنڈ میں حصہ ڈالنے کے اقدام کا شکریہ بھی ادا کیا۔
انہوں نے یونیسکو کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل کی طرف سے یونیسکو میں سٹریٹیجک سطح پر تبدیلیاں لانے کی ان کی حالیہ تجویز کا خیرمقدم کیا اور اس بات پر زور دیا کہ یونیسکو کے مساوات پر مبنی منڈیٹ کے مطابق یونیسکومیں شفافیت اور باہمی شراکت کی بنیاد پر فیصلہ لینے کے عمل کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔
پیرس میں اپنے قیام کے دوران ڈاکٹر شذرہ منصب علی خان کھرل نے یونیسکو کی جنرل کانفرنس کے صدر، ایگزیگٹیو بورڈ کے صدر اور یونیسکو کے سینئر حکام کے ساتھ ملاتیں بھی کریں گی۔
