Emerging and beautiful Pakistan – a country waiting to be discovered

Paris, 2 March, 2018. The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque has said that Pakistan as an emerging and one of the fastest growing economy is attracting foreign investors, businessmen and traders from many countries including France.

The Ambassador was speaking at the Seminar on Pakistan titled, “Understanding Pakistani Geopolitics”, organized by Sciences Po university in the city of Grenoble.

During his presentation, the Ambassador gave a historical context of Pakistan’s creation and the difficulties that Pakistan had to face at the time of partition and the challenges confronted by since last four decades in its region amidst the competing interests of the major powers, the ongoing Pakistan-India tensions, instability in Afghanistan and fight against terrorism. The Pakistani nation had paid a heavy price for defeating the forces of terrorism and extremism. Over 60,000 peoples have died including thousands of our brave soldiers. The Ambassador had stated that Pakistan was committed to eradicate this menace from our country and our region.

He stated that Pakistani nation was resilient and would face all challenges making Pakistan a peaceful, modern and a progressive state. CPEC project was ushering a new era of economic prosperity in the country through building a vast network of roads, railways, ports and special industrial zones.

The Ambassador added that Pakistan’s future was promising with a strong parliament, effective and efficient civil and military administration, independent judiciary and free media.

Earlier, the Ambassador met with Mr. Patrcik Levy, the President of Grenoble Alpes University and invited him to consider opening a campus of his university in Pakistan. The Ambassador also visited the GE/Alstom Hydro Electricity facility in Grenoble which has been awarded the contract for Mangla Dam upgrade. He also visited the office of Schneider Electric to discuss future investment collaboration with Pakistan.

During his visit, the Ambassador met a group of Pakistani Scholars and PhD students who are pursuing their higher education in various Universities of Grenoble-Alps and advised them to fully focus on their studies and utilize the acquired knowledge and improved skills to contribute in progress and development of Pakistan after completing their courses.

This was the fifth leg of Ambassador’s outreach initiative to various Paris regions. Earlier, the Ambassador had visited Lyon, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Normandy region to promote Pakistan as a preferred destination for making investment, doing business and trade.

پیرس 2 مارچ 2018 جناب معین الحق سفیر پاکستان برائے فرانس نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی ابھرتی اور تیزی سے ترقی کرتی ہوئی معیشیت فرانس سمیت مختلف ملکوں کے سرمایہ کاروں، کاروباری حضرات اور تاجروں کو اپنی طرف راغب کر رہی ہے۔ 
ان خیالات کا اظہار سفیر پاکستان نے فرانس کے شہر گرینوبل شہر میں منعقدہ ایک کانفرنس میں کیا جس کا عنوان ”پاکستان جیو پالیٹیکس“ تھا۔ اس کانفرنس کا اہتمام سائنس پو یونیورسٹی فرانس کی جانب سے کیا گیا تھا۔ 
سفیر پاکستان کے اپنے خیالات کے اظہار کے دوران پاکستان کی تخلیق کا تاریخی حوالہ دیا اور تقسیم کے وقت پاکستان کو درپیش آنے والے مسائل و مشکلات اور خطے میں 4 دہائیوں سے بڑی عالمی قوتوں کے مفادات کی وجہ سے پیش آنے والی مشکلات، انڈیا پاکستان کے درمیان جاری کشمکش، افغانستان کا عدم استحکام اور دہشت گردگی کے خلاف جنگ کا بھی ذکر کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستانی قوم نے انتہا پسند اور دہشت گرد قوتووں کا مقابلہ کرنے کیلئے بہت بھاری قیمت چکائی ہے اور دہشت گردی کی اس جنگ میں ساٹھ ہزار سے زائد شہریوں اور ہماری بہادر افواج کے ہزاروں جوانوں نے اپنی جانوں کا انذرانہ پیش کیا ہے۔ سفیر پاکستان نے کہا کہ پاکستان اپنے اور خطے میں امن کے قیام کیلئے پر عزم ہے۔ 
انہوں نے کہا کہ پاکستانی قوم  پاکستان کو پرامن، جدید اور اور خوشحال ملک بنانے کیلئے ہر قسم کی مشکلات کا سامنا کرنے کیلئے تیار ہے۔ چین پاکستان اقتصادی راہداری منصوبے کے تحت بچھنے والے سڑکوں کے وسع جال، ریلوے، بندرگاہوں اور خصوصی صنعتی علاقوں کے قیام کی وجہ سے پاکستان کی معیشت ترقی کی طرف گامزن ہے۔ 
سفیر پاکستان نے کہا کہ مضبوط پارلیمنٹ،موثر سول و فوجی انتظامیہ، آزاد عدلیہ اور آزاد صحافت کی بدولت پاکستان کا مستقبل روشن ہے۔ 
اس سے قبل سفیر پاکستان نے گروینوبل آلپس یونیورسٹی کے صدر جناب پیٹرک لیوی سے بھی ملاقات کی اور انہیں پاکستان میں اپنی یونیورسٹی کا کیمپس کھولنے کی دعوت دی۔ سفیر پاکستان نے جی ای/ السٹوم ہائیڈرو الیکٹریسٹی کا بھی دورہ کیا جسے منگلہ ڈیم کی توسیع کا بھی ٹھیکہ دیا گیا ہے۔  انہوں نے شانائیڈر الیکٹرک کے آفس کا بھی دورہ کیا اور مستقبل میں پاکستان کے ساتھ ملک کر سرمایہ کاری کی پیشکش کی۔ 
سفیر پاکستان نے اپنے اس دورے کے دوران پاکستانی سکالرز اور پی ایچ ڈی کے طالبعلموں سے بھی ملاقات کی جو کہ گرینوبل آلپس کی مختلف یونیورسٹیوں میں تعلیم حاصل کر رہے ہیں۔ سفیر پاکستان نے انہیں تاکید کی کہ وہ اپنی تعلیم کی طرف بھرپور توجہ دیں اوراپنی تعلیم مکمل کرنے کے بعد پاکستان کی بہتری اور ترقی میں اپنا حصہ ڈالنے کیلئے اپنی مہارتوں اور علوم میں مزید بہتری لائیں۔
یہ سفیر پاکستان کا پیرس سے باہر فرانس کے مختلف شہروں میں پانچواں دورہ ہے۔ اس سے قبل سفیر پاکستان، پاکستان کے مثبت پہلووں کو اجاگر کرنے، سرمایہ کاری اور کاروبار کو فروغ دینے کیلئے لیون، سٹارسبرگ، تلوز اور نارمنڈی کے دورے کر چکے ہیں۔

Pakistan Festival 2017

Pakistan Community is all set to celebrate 70th Anniversary of the Pakistan’s Independence this August. Community has resolved to organize a Pakistani Festival at Sarcelles a town near Paris to commemorate the event. The Festival will be held on 26th August, 2017. All community members are requested to come forward and play their role in making the festival a resounding success.

The Embassy of Pakistan to France is appreciative of Circle K2 a dynamic club of young Pakistani professionals and students for joining hands with the Embassy in its efforts to promote Pakistan in France.

A large number of Circle K2 members participated in the first ever Youth Convention held at the Embassy and contributed to its success.

The Ambassador briefed them about Pakistan-France relations and the Embassy initiative “Celebrating Pakistan” for promoting soft image of Pakistan in France.

Before the Convention, Circle K2 organized their Third Annual Seminar in which presentations on “Smart Cities” and ‘Financial Crises” were made for the benefit of the audience.

Embassy of Pakistan to France is organizing a conference on the theme,  “Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam by Dr. Allama Iqbal a Case Study” to observe the 79th death Anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the poet and philosopher of the East in collaboration with Algiers Culture Centre in Paris France on 20th April, 2017

Updated Advisory (December 2016): Harassing calls claiming to be from the Embassy

The Embassy of Pakistan, Paris has received some complaints about malicious telephone calls harassing members of the Pakistani Community.
Another instance has also come to our notice where our Community Members receive calls [textblock style=”2″]Aapparently from the numbers of their family members / relatives” and are conveyed that the concerned person has been detained / apprehended etc.[/textblock]

The Embassy of Pakistan, assures all members of the Community that such malicious and obnoxious calls are not being made from the Embassy Staff. We have taken up the matter with the concerned authorities for necessary remedial measures. In this regard, following actions are suggested:

[ulist style="2"]In case such a call is received, immediately call back on the Embassy exchange for verification and registration of your complaint.
 If you receive a call from a number "apparently belonging to a family member" call them back on their number to verify the call.  The Embassy of Pakistan, Paris has already launched the complaint with Service Provider and the authorities concerned.  We regret the inconvenience faced by our Community members and assure that the Embassy remains available at your service for all matters. [/ulist]

Machine Readable Passport (MRP)

According to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Manual / Hand written passport (Non-MRP) will phase out with effect from 30 September 2016.  Foreign governments may deny visa or entry to persons travelling on manual passports after 30 September 2016.

All members of the community are requested to immediately apply for Machine Readable Passport (MRP) to avoid any inconvenience.

Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis

  The Office of the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan, has established the Grievance Commissioner Cell for Overseas Pakistanis in Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Overseas Pakistanis under Section (7) of the Federal Ombudsman Institutional Reforms Act, 2013, to address the invidual and systematic issues of the Overseas Pakistanis related to the Federal Goverment Ministries, Departments, Organizations and Agencies.
