Pakistan can benefit from French expertise in Agriculture and livestock sectors
Paris 12th July, 2020. The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque has said that Pakistan can learn from French modern farming methods and agricultural best practices to increase its agriculture output, livestock yield and bring value addition to its dairy sector.
This was stated by him during his day long visit to various fresh produce, livestock and dairy farms in Burgundy region of France to specifically study the successful experience of small scale and family based farming in a rural setting.
During the visit arranged by Mr. Alain Recreux, the former honorary investment Counsellor of Pakistan in France and an agricultural expert, the Ambassador met with the local farmers, livestock breeders and members of local chamber of agriculture and livestock.
He was also briefed by the local Mayor about forestation and tree plantation projects, which was a source of employment for the residents besides attracting tourists. The Ambassador said that experience of France and its best practices would help Pakistan in its own “Ten billion tree plantation campaign”.
During his interactions, he also highlighted the priority of the government of Pakistan for development and modernization of agriculture sector as it contributes 18.5% to country’s GDP, provides 38.5% employment to national labor force and is a key to economic growth and poverty alleviation.
He said that the Embassy is in discussion with the French authorities for setting up of special training modules for Pakistani farmers. Negotiations are also underway with French companies to set up a state of the art market in Pakistan for the storage, sale and distribution of fresh farm produce.
France is one of the most advance agricultural country of Europe. It is a European leader accounting for 22% of the EU’s total agriculture output. It is among the top producers in the world for wheat, cereals, milk, meat, sugar beet and oil seeds.

سفیر پاکستان نے یہ بات فرانس کے جنوبی علاقے برگندی میں تازہ زرعی اجناس، شعبہ حیوانات اور اورڈیری مصنوعات سے تعلق رکنے والی مختلف تنصیبات کے ایک روزہ دورے کے دوران کہی۔ یہ تنصیبات فرانس کے دیہی علاقوں میں چھوٹے پیمانے پر زراعت، کاشتکاری اور شعبہ حیوانات کی مصنوعات سے تعلق رکھنے والے کاشکارووں کو اپنی مدد آپ کے تحت ترقی کرنے کے موقعے فراہم کرتا ہے۔
اس دورے کا اہتمام جناب الائن ریکریکس، فرانس میں پاکستان کے سابق عزازی قونصلر برائے سرمایہ کاری و ماہر زراعت نے کیا تھا۔ اس دورے کے دوران سفیر پاکستان نے مقامی کسانوں، شعبہ حیوانات اور مقامی شعبہ زراعت کے اراکین سے ملاقاتیں بھی کیں۔
مقامی میئر نے سفیر پاکستان کو جنگلات اور درخت لگانے کے منصوبوں کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا جو سیاحوں کو راغب کرنے کے علاوہ مقامی لوگوں کے روزگار کا بھی ذریعہ ہے۔ سفیر پاکستان نے کہا کہ پاکستان اپنے دس ارب شجرکاری مہم کو مزید کامیاب بنانے کیلئے فرانس کے تجربات سے فائدہ اٹھا سکتاہے۔
گفتگو کے دوران انہوں نے زراعت کے شعبہ کی ترقی اور جدید طریقہ کار کیلئے حکومت پاکستان کی ترجیحات پر روشنی ڈالتے ہوئے کہا کہ پاکستان کی جی ڈی پی میں زراعت کا 18.5 فیصد حصہ ہے اور 38.5 فیصد ملازمتیں بھی زراعت کے شعبہ سے ہی منسلک ہیں اور ملک میں غربت کے خاتمہ کیلئے زراعت کا ایک کلیدی کردار ہے۔
سفیر پاکستان نے کہا کہ سفارت خانہ پاکستان فرانسیسی حکام کے ساتھ مل کر پاکستانی کاشتکاروں کیلئے خصوصی تربیتی پروگرام کے اجراء پر تبادلہ خیال کر رہاہے۔ پاکستان میں زرعی پیداوار کو ذخیرہ کرنے اور فروخت کرنے کیلئے فرانسیسی کمپنیوں کے ساتھ پاکستان میں ایک جدید ترین مارکیٹ کے قیام کرنے پر بھی بات چیت جاری ہے۔
فرانس یورپ کا ترقی یافتہ ملک ہے اور یورپی یونین کی کل زرعی پیداوار میں اس کا 22 فیصد حصہ ہے اور دنیا کی بہترین پیداوار جن میں گندم، اناج، دودھ، گوشت، چینی اوربیج جن سے تیل حاصل کیا جاتا ہے وہ فرانس میں پیدا ہوتے ہیں۔

Pakistan called upon UNESCO to ensure upholding of human rights during COVID-19 health crisis
Paris 8th July, 2020. The Ambassador of Pakistan to France and Permanent Representative of Pakistan to UNESCO Mr. Moin ul Haque has called upon UNESCO to reject policies pursued by certain countries to exploit COVID 19 health crisis to stigmatize some ethnic and religious minorities in their countries in contravention of the principles and values of UN Charter and international humanitarian law.
This was stated by him while addressing the 209th virtual session of UNESCO Executive Board conducted by UNESCO headquarter, Paris last week.
The Ambassador lamented the flawed and exclusionary policies of certain countries to curb the fundamental human rights of people and communities in a systematic and brutal manner.
He emphasized that the UNESCO members countries should continue to promote peace, tolerance and respect for diversity and universal human rights, and should strongly reject any form of racism, discrimination, stereotyping and prejudice.
He assured the UNESCO Executive board members that Pakistan would continue to play an active and constructive role through dialogue and collective action in the spirit of multilateralism to build mutual trust and collaboration to achieve UNESCO’s goals.
پیرس، 8 جولائی:2020 جناب معین الحق سفیر پاکستان برائے فرانس و یونیسکو میں پاکستان کے مستقل مندوب نے یونیسکو پر زور دیا ہے کہ وہ بعض ملکوں کی طرف سے کوویڈ19 کے صحتی بحران کے آڑ میں انسانی حقوق کی پامالی، نسلی اور مذہبی اقلیتوں کے ساتھ امتیازی سلوک کی پالیسیاں جوکہ اقوام متحدہ کے چارٹر اور بین الاقوامی انسانی حقوق کے قوانین کے خلاف ہیں کو سختی سے مسترد کرے۔
سفیر پاکستان نے یہ بات گزشتہ ہفتے یونیسکو کی جانب سے منعقد کیئے جانے والے یونیسکو کے 209ویں ایگزیگٹیو بورڈ کے اجلاس سے ویڈیو لنک کے ذریعے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کہی۔
سفیر پاکستان نے بعض ملکوں کی طرف سے ایک سوچے سمجھے منصوبے کے تحت بنیادی انسانی حقوق کو سلب کرنے کیلئے اختیار کی جانے والی ناقص اور انسانی تفریق پر مبنی پالیسیوں پر شدید غم اور افسوس کا اظہار کیا۔
انہوں نے یونیسکو پر زور دیا کہ وہ کوویڈ19 کے صحتی بحران کے دوران بھی دنیا میں امن، رواداری، انسانی تنوع اور بین الاقوامی انسانی حقوق کو بحال رکھنے کیلئے اپنا کردار ادا کرتا رہے اور اسے بعض ملکوں کی طرف سے انسانوں میں نسل اور مذہب کی بنیاد پر تفریق اور تعصب کی پالیسیوں کے نفاذ کو سختی سے مسترد کرنا چاہئے۔
سفیر پاکستان نے یونیسکو کے ایگزیگٹیو بورڈ کے اراکین کو یقین دلایا کہ پاکستان یونیسکو کے اہداف کے حصول کیلئے باہمی اعتماد اور کثیرالجہتی کے جذبے کے تحت گفتگو و شنید اور اجتماعی اقدامات کے ذریعے اپنا مثبت اور تعمیری کردار ادا کرتا رہے گا۔

Pak Embassy helps distressed Pakistanis during coronavirus lockdown in France
Paris 2nd April, 2020. The Embassy of Pakistan in Paris has launched a ration distribution campaign to help those Pakistanis who may face hardship due to coronavirus lockdown in France.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque in a statement issued in Paris today.
The Ambassador said that the Embassy in coordination with community associations and local philanthropist organizations will distribute the essential food items to needy people.

Paris 1st April, 2020. On behalf of the members of the Embassy of Pakistan to France and on my own behalf, I would like to extend my deepest condolences and grief over the sad demise of Ms. Aisha Bibi who passed away near Paris today due to COVID-19. Inna LiAllah wa inna alaihai rajaioon
May Almighty Allah bless the departed soul in eternal peace and give patience, courage and fortitude to the members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
I would request the community members to also pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

TRAVEL ADVISORY – NOVEL CORONA VIRUS DISEASE (COVID-19)
ISLAMABAD — The WHO has declared COVID-19 a pandemic. Most of the countries have now reported cases of COVID-19. The Government is making all-out efforts to deal with a rapidly evolving situation which is a challenge, not only for Pakistan but the whole world. Proactive, comprehensive and coordinated steps continue to be taken to curtail the spread of COVID-19, with a view to ensuring safety and security of our nationals and people traveling to and from Pakistan.
2. As the situation evolves, the Government continues to review the measures/ arrangements in place, including the WHO recommendations to keep its population safe.
3. Against this backdrop and after carefully examining all options, the Government of Pakistan has decided to suspend operation of all international passenger, chartered and private flights to Pakistan, effective from 21st March 2020 (2000 hrs PST) to 4th April 2020 (2000 hrs PST). This is a temporary suspension imposed due to exceptional circumstances. Upon resumption of international passenger, chartered and private flights to Pakistan, RT-PCR test certification from points of origin will not be mandatory.
4. Diplomats and special/ cargo aircrafts are exempted from the conditions above. However, they will be subjected to appropriate health screenings on arrival. They can also be isolated / quarantined as per advice of health professionals.
5. The Government of Pakistan is fully committed to ensuring the safety and security of its people. COVID-19 is a global challenge entailing a global response. Individual responsibility is critical for collective security. Your safety lies in keeping others safe.

UNDER SELF-FINANCE SCHEME (SFN) for session 2019-2020
Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad has informed that a limited number of seats are available for admissions in Public Sectors Universities/Institutions of Pakistan in the disciplines of MBBS/BDS/Pharmacy-D and B.Sc (Engineering) for foreign nationals as well as Pakistan origin dual nationality holders for the Academic Session 2019-2020 under self-Finance Scheme.
